a place for everyone
They say variety is the spice of life, and I agree. I love all herbs big and small, invasive and non invasive, so to keep the invasive ones like mint from taking over my garden, I simply pot them. This way I can have as little or as much as I want, and since there are so many fun varieties of mint like Apple, Chocolate, Pineapple, Ginger it makes it easier to appreciate and distinguish when potted. To keep the big ones like Lavender and Rosemary at bay, I also pot them. It’s a fun way to showcase unusual herbs, or ones that might get lost amongst the other plants in the garden like Cuban oregano, Bronze fennel, Za’atar, and Vietnamese coriander. That is why there is a place for everyone and everyone has a place.
